Welcome
www.thepostmasterstonemountain.com is an e-commerce site located in the historic business district of the City of Stone Mountain in Georgia.

The Postmaster's Collection, in the old granite post office here, is the rock and mortar home of the e-commerce activity.
Stone Mountain is a charming town of about 7,000 souls. It nestles up against Stone Mountain Park, home to the monadnock known as Stone Mountain. The town was known in the mid-1800's as New Gibraltar. To put itself on the map, its residents decided to rename the town after the important geologic feature, believed to be the largest mass of exposed granite in the world. The Mountain rises more than 800 feet above the surrounding terrain.
Stone Mountain the town was ransacked in the Civil War, but not destroyed. We have many pre-civil war homes, modest (not antebellum) because they were built to house workers at the Stone Mountain quarry.
Our railroad depot is reportedly the only pre-Civil War depot in the State that has been in continuous use as a government building. We have a historic district that is stalked by home-buyers, affordable to families of modest incomes.
The Postmaster's Collection sells Stone Mountain Handbags, a high-quality, mid-price handbag in production since 1978 and named after the geologic marker on the edge of town. The Stone Mountain Handbags company, now based in Manhattan, remains committed to specialty retailers, such as The Postmaster's Collection. The company has been generous with us, and happy to be once again in the City of Stone Mountain. So Stone Mountain Handbags' products constitute the bulk of our inventory. This web site offers a great variety of designer handbags.
Fritha Dinwiddie is the owner, and thepostmasterstonemountain.com is evidence of economic progress in a town that is going through a major revitalization.
Buyers call or visit from all over the country to purchase a Stone Mountain handbag. We want to use e-commerce, operated out of the shop, to support our investment so that we can bring to consumers the things that they want most. Our goal is to point buyers to practical, durable items and to consumable products.
Our first entries include foods, handbags, and gardening essentials; we will expand that as we get feedback from users. Visit a number of on-line nurseries for gardening supplies. They offer quality plants and more at great prices: Come see what we mean!
Products from outside the South will be among our affiliations. Yet the commitment that we will hold fast to is including items grown/made in Georgia.
We welcome live and cyber-visitors. We want you to feel welcome at thepostmasterstonemountain.com and never reluctant to point us to things that you want to have. Send us a message at our contacts page.
