Craftsmen were scattered from Paris to country provinces. During the 1960’s-70’s the Longchamp company began making travel bags and light-weight luggage. In 1979, boutiques were established in Asia. In 1999 show space opened at rue Saint Honore, on Madison Avenue in New York, and in the Ginza district in Tokyo. A 2004 venture with British designers Thomas Heatherwick and Tracey Emin was followed in 2007 by an outreach to contemporary artists. At that moment Longchamp Pocketbooks became worldwide. Now Longchamp Pocketbooks can be found in over 75 retail shops on six continents. Styles vary widely. Longchamp bags include briefcase, pocketbooks, hobo, clutch, crossbody, backpack, tote.
